Player Records Hole-In-One At Qualifying

May 14 was a busy day at the Women’s Open local qualifier at San Juan Oaks Golf Club in San Juan Bautista, Calif. Laura Luethke, 15, of Clovis, Calif., recorded a hole-in-one on the 16th hole with an 8-iron. Luethke shot an 80 and missed advancing to sectional qualifying by three strokes, but 29 players did move on, led by Soo Yung Moon, 18, of Korea, who shot a women’s course-record 69.
