Local Qualifying Exemptions
Sectional Qualifying Exemptions

L-1. All former winners of the U.S. Women’s Open Championship.

L-2. All former winners of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

L-3. All former winners of the LPGA Championship, the Women’s British Open Championship, the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the du Maurier Classic.

L-4. Winner of the 2001 Ladies’ British Open Amateur Championship.

L-5. Winners of U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship, U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, and the USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Championship for the last five years (1997-2001), who meet the handicap requirement.

L-6. Playing members of the U.S. Curtis Cup and U.S. Women’s World Amateur teams for the last ten years (1992-2000).

L-7. Playing members of the United States and European Solheim Cup teams for the last ten years (1992-2000).

L-8. Winners of LPGA Tour co-sponsored events, whose victories are considered official, from the conclusion of the 1999 U.S. Women’s Open Championship to the initiation of the 2001 U.S. Women’s Open Championship.

L-9. Winners of Futures Tour and the Japan LPGA Tour whose victories are considered official, in the last calendar year and during the current year (2001 and 2002), through May 1 (must have filed an entry by May 1).

L-10. From the 2001 U.S. Women’s Open Championship, those returning scores for 72 holes (excluding those fully exempt as listed above).

L-11. From the 2001 LPGA Championship, the 30 lowest scorers and anyone tying for 30th place (excluding those fully exempt as listed above).

L-12. From the 2001 final official LPGA Tour money list, the top 90 money leaders, and from the final official LPGA Tour money list, the leader in each of the last five calendar years.

L-13. From the 2001 final official Futures Tour money list, the top five money leaders.

L-14. From the official LPGA Tour career money list, the top 50 money leaders as of the end of 2001.

L-15. Winners of the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit for the last five years.

L-16. Ladies European Tour Order of Merit Tournament winners from 2000, 2001, and 2002 through the close of entries on May 1 (must have filed an entry by May 1).

L-17. The top 50 from the 2001 Final Ladies European Tour Order of Merit.

L-18. From the 2002 LPGA Tour official money list, the top 100 money leaders through May 1 (must have filed an entry by May 1).

L-19. Quarterfinalists from the 2001 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

L-20. Winners of the 2001 LPGATeaching and Club Professional Championship.

L-21. Any player whom the USGA Women’s Committee selects for an exemption on the basis of her playing record (may be added to the field of 425 players but must have filed an entry by May 1).
