Kane represented her country several times as a member of the Canadian International Team from 1989-1992, a member of the Canadian Commonwealth Team in 1991 and a member of the 1992 Canadian World Amateur Team. She was also the Mexican Amateur champion in 1991.

Kane turned professional in 1993 and participated on the Central Florida Challenge Tour and the du Maurier Ltd. Series in Canada. Kane was the du Maurier Ltd. Series champion in 1994 and 1995 and was a Series event winner from 1993-1995. In 1997 Kane recorded a new career-best finish with a solo second place finish at the Toray Japan Queens Cup.

Kane's first LPGA Tour victory came in 2000 at the Michelob Light Classic. It ended a string of nine runner-up finishes.

She added two more victories in 2000. She also won the 2001 LPGA Takefuji Classic.
