Redman was the 1983 Ohio State Junior champion. In 1986, she was a quarter-finalist in the U.S. Women's Amateur and that same year finished as second low amateur in the U.S. Women's Open. She played collegiate golf at Indiana University where she won one individual title, twice was named All-American, and four times earned all Big-Ten Conference honors. In addition, she was the Big-Ten Conference champion in 1987.

Prior to qualifying for the LPGA Tour, Redman played on the Futures Tour for three years where she won three events and posted several top-10 finishes. Redman qualified for the LPGA Tour on her fourth attemt. In 1997 Redman crossed the $200,000 mark in single-season earnings for the first time in her career.

During the 2001 season her best finish was third at the Longs Drugs Challenge, where she crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings. She also finished fourth at both The Office Depot and the Sybase Big Apple Classic and tied for fifth at the Subaru Memorial of Naples.
