Won her fourth career title at the Mobile LPGA Tournament of Champions, where she defeated Hee-Won Han in a one-hole, sudden-death playoff.

Posted five additional top-10 finishes, including a tie for second at the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic.

Other top-10s included an eighth-place finish at the Safeway PING Presented by Yoplait and a pair of ties for ninth at the Asahi Ryokuken International Championship at Mount Vintage and the State Farm Classic.

Tied her career-low score of 65 during the second round of the Welch’s/Fry’s Championship, where she tied for 13th.

Recorded her third top-10 finish of the season at the Samsung World Championship, where she tied for 10th.

Crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings at The Office Depot Championship Hosted by Amy Alcott, becoming the youngest player to cross the $1 million mark at 21 years, 7 months and 12 days, breaking Brandie Burton’s record by nine days.

In 2000, defeated Pat Hurst on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic and become the youngest player (19 years old)to win an LPGA event since Amy Alcott won the 1975 Orange Blossom Classic; named the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year on the strength of her win and seven additional top-20 finishes; recorded her first career hole-in-one during the third round of the Michelob Light Classic.

In 1999, tied for fourth at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn exempt status for the 2000 season.

AMATEUR:

Captured the 1996 California Women’s Championship and the U.S. Girls’ Junior, beating Grace Park in the final. . . Was the 1997 SEA Games Gold Medal winner (team and individual)and 1998 Junior World champion. . . Ended Amateur career with victory at 1999 U.S. Women’s Amateur ...
