Morgan Pressel Diary - Sunday, July 2 | |||||||||||||||
|
Morgan Pressel is a rookie on the LPGA Tour this year. She is coming off an excellent amateur career, capping it with a victory at the 2005 U.S. Women’s Amateur. Last year she finished tied for second in the Women’s Open at Cherry Hills Golf Club. This week Pressel will share her thoughts with www.uswomensopen.com: It was a long day, a very long day. I played much better today then earlier in the week. I certainly hit the ball much better and I putted much better than I had. This morning probably I hit four horrendous shots on the 11th hole, which I doubled. The 13th and 18th, which I bogeyed, and then my nemesis - the ninth - which I double bogeyed again for the second time, those cost me too much, so that’s frustrating especially because on the second 18 hole I played so much better, just very solid, missed a few putts just on edges; that was all. This week showed me that it’s tough out there and I have a lot to work on. I just need to play better to compete. I think I fixed my putting a little bit. I was cutting across the ball a little bit earlier in the week and I figured that out on the putting green the other day, but there are some little things like that, which I need to work on. I now go off to match play in New Jersey. I feel fine, so I’m OK to play. Obviously I wish I would have played better, but it doesn’t happen like that. |
