Morgan Pressel Diary - Thursday, June 29 | |||||||||||||||
|
Morgan Pressel is a rookie on the LPGA Tour this year. She is coming off an excellent amateur career, capping it with a victory at the 2005 U.S. Women’s Amateur. Last year she finished tied for second in the Women’s Open at Cherry Hills Golf Club. This week Pressel will share her thoughts with www.uswomensopen.com: Since I had a 1:14 p.m. tee time today it was clear 8:15 a.m. that I was likely not going to start today. It’s was very understandable with the fog we had so I eventually got up and went to breakfast with my grandfather and friends that came in town from Boston and other areas to watch golf. Unfortunately they didn’t get to see any. After breakfast we just hung around and talked until finally I decided to come out to hit some balls because I had been doing nothing but sitting all morning. I got here about 2:15 and while the fog was still all around, it seemed to lift a little, but it didn’t take long for the fog to roll back in, so by 3 o’clock they called the day. And now I will have the same tee time on Friday and hopefully will get a chance to play then. I’m glad that I didn’t have an early time and had to wait here all day. At McDonald’s I played one hole and then a rain delay, which took forever. I eventually went out and played I think eight more holes, but that was it for the entire day; not much fun. The one thing good about a fog delay versus a rain delay, you can go out and hit balls and walk around. When it rains, you are usually stuck in the locker room watching the rain drops fall. |
