In 2006, won two events (the Tucson Duramed FUTURES Golf Classic, and the Laconia Savings Bank Golf Classic) on the Duramed Futures Tour; posted 11 additional top-10 finishes and led the tour with a 70.71 scoring average; placed second on the Duramed Futures Tour season-ending money list to earn exempt status for the 2007 LPGA season.
In 2005, turned professional in June; competed on the Futures Tour, where she posted four top-10 finishes.
Amateur Highlights
Mayorkas was the top player on her high school boys’ golf team. She was a second-team selection for 2000 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Polo All-America honors, after winning the Hudson Junior Invitational and the AJGA RS Investment Sacramento Junior Classic. Mayorkas was a four-year letter winner at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and recorded five collegiate wins, while helping lead the Bruins to the 2004 NCAA Championship title. She was UCLA’s first three-time NGCA First-Team All-American (2003- 05). Mayorkas was a three-year All Pac-10 First-Team selection (2003-05), 2004 Pac-10 individual champion and voted the 2004 Pac-10 Player of the Year.
Personal
Started playing golf at the age of 9. . . Credits her golf instructors and coaches as the individuals most influencing her career. . . Hobbies include all sports, tennis, working out, running, surfing, yoga, watching movies and reading. . . Qualified for the Tour on her second attempt. Avid Green Bay Packers fan.
