At 14 became the youngest champion in U.S. Women's Amateur history in 2006 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club outside of Portlandin North Plains, Ore. …Defeated Germany's Katharina Schallenberg, 1 up, in a thrilling 36-hole final that saw Kim rally from an early 5-down deficit. Kim needed to hole a short birdie putt at the final hole to secure the title after Schallenberg rolled in a long birdie putt from the fringe…Also runner-up at the 2006 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship to Tiffany Joh, 6 and 5…Lost in the second round of 2007 WAPL…Also competed in 2005 and 2008 WAPLs…One of four amateurs to make the 36-hole cut at the 2006 U.S. Women's Open…Missed the cut at the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open…Shot 62 in stroke-play qualifying to tie the USGA record for lowest 18-hole stroke-play score and to set a course record at Tacoma Country and Golf Club in 2007 U.S. Girls' Junior, but fell in quarterfinals to fellow Hawaiian Stephanie Kono in (23 holes)…Also competed in U.S. Girls' Junior from 2004-06 and WAPL in 2005…Moved to the Phoenix area in summer of 2006 so she could travel to tournaments easier…Will be a senior in the fall…At 12, she became the youngest to win an American Junior Golf Association title, capturing the Sun Willows Junior…Member of victorious 2008 USA Curtis Cup team that competed at St. Andrews, Scotland…Represented the USA at the 2006 Women's World Amateur Team Championship in South Africa in fall of 2006, shooting a 66 in the third round… Also competed in the 2004 and '05 U.S. Girls' Juniors…Tied for fifth at the Rolex Girls' Junior Championship…Competed at the 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship but failed did not to make the cut…Older sister Christine attends the University of Colorado and plays on the school's women's golf team…Two-time winner of her age division at the Junior World Championship in San Diego.
