Won her second career LPGA event at the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship as the 22nd seed, winning six consecutive matches.

Recorded seven additional top-10 finishes, including a tie for third at the Hana Bank

KOLON Championship, where she crossed the $1 million mark in season earnings for the first time in her LPGA career.

Crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings with a tie for 10th at The Mitchell Company LPGA Tournament of Champions.

Carded a season-low 64 in the final round of the CN Canadian Women’s Open—a Tour season-low final round on a par-71 course—which led to a ninth-place finish.

2006 Highlights

Won her first career LPGA event at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, where she carded a career-low 63 in the final round and became the third of five Rolex First-Time Winners of the season.

Clinched the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year title after the Longs Drugs Challenge; ended the year with 1009 points, 204 points ahead of Julieta Granada.

Recorded an additional six top-10 finishes, including three second-place finishes: Fields Open in Hawaii, where she lost to Meena Lee in a three-hole, sudden-death playoff; the next week at the MasterCard Classic Honoring Alejo Peralta; and the LPGA Takefuji Classic.

In 2004, competed on the Futures Tour and recorded six top-10 finishes.

In 2003, won the Himart Championship on the KLPGA and finished third on the KLPGA money list.

In 2001, won the McSquare Championship on the KLPGA to become the youngest winner in the history of the KLPGA.

In 2000, at the age of 14, turned professional in March, making her the youngest female to turn professional in South Korea.
