Recorded five additional top-10 finishes: tie for fifth at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, tie for sixth at the MasterCard Classic, tie for seventh at the Safeway Classic, tie for eighth at both the Safeway International Presented by Coca-Cola and the Hana Bank KOLON Championship.

Tied for 10th at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill.

Crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings at the Safeway International Presented by Coca-Cola.

Posted a season-low 65 in the first round of the LPGA Takefuji Classic.

Also shot 65 at the Wegmans LPGA, where she tied for 17th.

On the strength of eight top-10 finishes, handily won the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Award by 164 points over Aree Song.

Recorded runner-up finishes on two occasions: the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola and the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic presented by Ford.

Tied for fourth at both the LPGA Corning Classic and the CJ Nine Bridges Classic.

Carded her first LPGA career hole-in-one en route to a career-low, final-round 63 at the Welch's/Fry's Championship, where she tied for fifth.

Tied the LPGA raw score record for nine holes with a 28 in the in the third round of the Welch's/Fry's Championship.

Won the MBC-Xcanvas Ladies Open on the Korea LPGA (KLPGA) Tour for her first career international victory.

In 2003, at the age of 19 years, 1 month and 18 days, won the CJ Nine Bridges Classic Presented by Sports Today, becoming the 13th non-LPGA member in history to win an LPGA event, the youngest international winner in LPGA history and the sixth-youngest winner in LPGA history; was a rookie on the KLPGA Tour and finished fourth on the money list.

In 2002, turned professional and played the Apache Dream Tour (KLPGA developmental tour), where she won three events and finished first on the order of merit.

Ahn was a member of the Korean National Team from 2000-01.
