2008 U.S. Women's Open

Christina Kim shot 4-over 77 in Sunday’s fourth round. Overall, she shot 9-over 301. She shared her thoughts with www.uswomensopen.com.

Looking at the day I can only characterize it as hilarious. There were just a lot of bad breaks and then a couple of fortunate breaks. And then when you hit a putt, a gust of wind comes and it rolls an extra 25 feet because of the wind. So all can you do is just - on a day like this - is laugh at it, because I’m nowhere near the lead.

It really felt like a Women’s Open today considering that it was like 8 o’clock in the morning and it was blowing like 15 to 20 miles an hour. Knowing my luck, the wind’s going to calm down pretty soon. There were a couple of very good U.S. Open hole locations out there. The rough is gnarly as it’s been all week and it’s definitely showing its teeth. The greens are firm. They’re quick. Very, very, very, tricky out there. So it’s going to make for a great champion.

The week was unbelievable. Absolutely fantastic. Just started with knowing the history of this course, behind this course and the fact that it’s the first U.S. Open that we have had here, and just the sheer number of people that were out here. Anything you can say it’s just, you can’t leave a place like this without a smile. Phenomenal golf course. Definitely scoreable, but definitely if you’re not hitting it right you’re not going to get any love out there. But it was just an absolutely phenomenal week.

Now I’m off to our next event is in northwest Arkansas in the Rogers area. So I got a flight leaving tonight non-stop.
