Started playing golf at the age of nine. Credits her father, who introduced her to the game, and family, because of their love and support, as the individuals most influencing her career. Her brother, Luke, who was an All-Conference golfer at Arkansas Tech, caddies for her. Lang achieved success on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit. She won eight AJGA events and was a two-time First-Team Polo Golf Junior All-American (2001 and 2002). Lang also represented the United States at the PING Junior Solheim Cup in 2002. In 2003, Lang won the North and South Women’s Amateur and the Women’s Western Amateur Championship in consecutive weeks. She also won the 2004 Trans National Women’s Amateur title. Lang attended Duke University for two years. She won six collegiate tournaments and was named the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year. She won back-to-back ACC individual titles (2004-05) and was named the 2004 ACC Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman College Golfer of the Year. Lang was a member of the victorious 2004 USA Curtis Cup Team and won medalist honors at the Women’s Amateur Public Links before advancing to the quarterfinals of match play. She competed as a sponsor exemption in both the 2005 Kraft Nabisco Championship and the LPGA Corning Classic, where she tied for 15th. Lang’s well-decorated amateur career was capped at the 2005 U.S. Women’s Open, where she tied for second with then-fellow amateur Morgan Pressel.

* In 2008, tied her career-best runner-up finishes at the Sybase Classic presented by ShopRite and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational by Banamex and Corona Light, where she carded a career-low 65 in the final round; recorded six additional top-10 finishes, including five in a row to finish the season; crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings with a tie for ninth at the Hana Bank KOLON Championship.

* In 2007, recorded a season-best tie for fourth at both the Sybase Classic presented by ShopRite and the CN Canadian Women’s Open.

* In 2006, recorded seven top-10 finishes, including a tie for third at both the Wegmans LPGA and Mizuno Classic; carded a career-low 66 five times: the opening round of the Wegmans LPGA, the final round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic presented by Kroger, the third round of the Wendy’s Championship for Children, and the following week in the first and final rounds of the State Farm Classic.

* In 2005, turned professional in July and made her professional debut via a sponsor exemption at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic presented by Kroger, where she tied for 36th; also competed as a sponsor exemption at the State Farm Classic and the BMO Financial Group Canadian Women’s Open, where she tied for sixth; tied for 22nd at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament and then birdied the final hole of a three-hole, seven-way playoff to earn one of the final three exempt cards for the 2006 LPGA season.
