Player Notes:

Started playing golf at the age of nine. Credits her parents and Tiger Woods as the individuals most influencing her career. Kim enjoyed a successful amateur career. She was a member of the Korean National Team in 2003 and 2004. She won three tournaments on the International Junior Golf Tour and also competed on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit, where she won the 2005 Hargray Junior Classic. Kim was the 2005 U.S. Girls’ Junior Champion and the medalist in the stroke-play portion of the 2005 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. Kim also earned medalist honors at the Duramed FUTURES Tour 2007 Qualifying Tournament.

* n 2008, became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Longs Drugs Challenge, where she crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings; recorded six additional top-10 finishes, including a tie for third at the U.S. Women’s Open; tied her career-low 65 in the first round of the Ginn Tribute Hosted by ANNIKA.

* In 2007, recorded four top-10 finishes, including a season-best second at the Wegmans LPGA after losing a two-hole, sudden-death playoff to Lorena Ochoa; recorded her first LPGA career hole-in-one in the third round of the MasterCard Classic Honoring Alejo Peralta presented by Televisa Deportes; carded a career-low 65 in the third round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic presented by Kroger, where she posted seven consecutive sub pars en route to a Tour season-low (par-34) 7-under-par 27 nine-hole score.

* In 2006, as an amateur, earned co-medalist honors at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn exempt status for the 2007 LPGA season; turned professional immediately following the final round.
