Started playing golf at the age of 10. Credits her parents as the individuals most influencing her career. Hobbies include cooking..Kim finished second-low individual in the 2000 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship and placed third at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. She was a member of the 1999-2002 Korean National Team and won a gold medal in the 2002 Asian Games.

* In 2007, recorded a season-best tie for seventh at the LPGA State Farm Classic; recorded her second LPGA career hole-in-one at the Hana Bank • KOLON Championship 2007.

* In 2006, became a Rolex First-Time Winner after defeating Lorena Ochoa and Soo Young Moon in a two-hole, sudden-death playoff at the SBS Open at Turtle Bay, where she tied her career-low 65 during the second round; recorded her first LPGA career hole-in-one at the Safeway International presented by Coca-Cola.

* In 2005, best finish was fourth place at the Safeway Classic presented by Pepsi; tied for fifth at the Sybase Classic presented by Lincoln Mercury, where she carded a career-low 65 during the second round.

* In 2004, played on the Korea LPGA Tour (KLPGA) and repeated as the Hansol Ladies Open champion; tied for 12th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn exempt status for the 2005 LPGA season.

* In 2003, played on the KLPGA and won the Hansol Ladies Open and the Woori Jeung Kwan Classic for her first two international victories.
