Started playing golf at the age of nine. Credits her parents Linda and Len and her brothers Neil and James as the individuals most influencing her career. Enjoys playing guitar and reading. Is an Australian citizen. Wright finished second at the 2001 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship while at Pepperdine University. She was a semifinalist at the 2002 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, finished second low individual at the 2002 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship in Malaysia and was a finalist at the 2002 British Ladies Open Amateur Championship. She played in the 2003 Kraft Nabisco Championship as an amateur and tied for 57th.

* In 2008, recorded a career-best third-place finish at the Fields Open in Hawaii; crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings at the Ginn OPEN, where she tied for 17th.
