Started playing golf at the age of 11. Credits her parents, her godfather Dr. Ernie Huang, her first golf coach in Taiwan, Liang-Hsi Chen, Glen Daugherty and Henri Reis as the individuals most influencing her career. Lu was the low amateur at the 2005 Taiwan LPGA Open, tying for fifth. She finished 10th at the 2005 Kosaido Taiwan Japan Friendship Tournament. Lu advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship in 2003 and 2005 and advanced to the semifinals in 2004. She tied for 17th at the 2003 and 2004 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship and as a member of Team Chinese Taipei tied for fourth at the 2004 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship. Lu also played one year on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit and was named a 2005 First-Team Rolex Junior All-American. She finished second at the 2005 AJGA Rolex Girls Junior Championship to Morgan Pressel and was a member of the winning 2005 AJGA West Canon Cup Team.

* In 2008, recorded a career-best tie for third at the Ginn OPEN; carded her second LPGA career hole-in-one during the third round of the Safeway International presented by Coca-Cola, en route to a career-low 66; recorded three additional top-10 finishes including a tie for 10th at the U.S. Women’s Open, her career-best finish - at a major championship.

* In 2007, best finish was a tie for ninth at both the Corona Championship and the Navistar LPGA Classic.

* In 2006, recorded the first hole-in-one of her LPGA career during the third round of the MasterCard Classic Honoring Alejo Peralta.

* In 2005, turned professional in November; tied for 22nd at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament but lost in a three-hole, seven-way playoff for one of the three final exempt cards and earned non-exempt status for the 2006 LPGA season.
