Started playing golf at the age of 11. Credits her father as the individual most influencing her career. Kim is a four-time winner of the Korea Golf Association Junior Championship and in 1997, won the Japan Golf Association Junior Championship.
* In 2008 recorded two top-10 finishes, including a tie for third at the Stanford International Pro-Am, where she crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings. Also finished fifth at the Grand China Air LPGA. Carded a season-low 66 in the first round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic presented by Kroger, where she tied for 17th.
* In 2007, became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the LPGA Corning Classic, where she carded four consecutive rounds in the 60s.
* In 2006, recorded five top-10 finishes, including a tie for eighth at both the Franklin American Mortgage Championship benefiting the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt; crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings with a tie for 24th at the LPGA Takefuji Classic.
* In 2005, recorded six top-10 finishes, including a season-best tie for third at the Weetabix Women’s British Open and the Mizuno Classic, where she tied her career-low 63 in the final round.
* In 2004, recorded three top-10 finishes, including a season-best tie for fifth at the Sybase Classic presented by Lincoln Mercury; ended the season with back-to-back ties for seventh at the CJ Nine Bridges Classic presented by Sports Today and the Mizuno Classic.
* In 2003, best finish was a tie for sixth at the McDonald’s LPGA Championship presented by AIG; carded a career-low 63 in the first round of the Welch’s/Fry’s Championship, which included a 28 (-7) on the back nine and her first LPGA career hole-in-one.
* In 2002, tied for fourth at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn exempt status for the 2003 LPGA season.
