The Southern California native and former Northwestern University standout is set to make her second U.S. Women's Open start after claiming the 2025 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur at Monterey Peninsula Country Club (Dunes Course). It was Kim-Schaad's second U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur title. She captured the 2019 championship at Forest Highlands, in Flagstaff, Ariz. She also was the runner-up to Lisa Ferrero in the 2000 U.S. Girls' Junior. Kim-Schaad, who splits time between Jupiter, Fla., and Greater New York City with her husband Ian, also won the 2024 New York State Women's Amateur. She is a four-time Metropolitan Golf Association Women's Amateur champion and was the runner-up in 2025. She also works as a mental performance coach at Fearless Golf. Her older sister, Hana, competed briefly as a professional and played Division I golf at both Northwestern and UCLA.
