Qualifier: Shot 69-68--137 at Boso Country Club (East/West Courses) in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on April 20
The 22-year-old professional from Chinese Taipei earned her first U.S. Women's Open start after carding 7-under 137 at Boso Country Club (East/West Courses) qualifier in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Nine years ago, Wu made USGA history by winning the longest 18-hole match in USGA championship history when she survived a 30-hole thriller (12 extra holes) against Louren Stephenson in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Women's Amateur at San Diego Country Club. Just 13 at the time, Wu made several long putts to continue the match before eventually prevailing as darkness began to envelop the Chula Vista, Calif., course. She would lose the next day in the semifinals. Wu owns six professional victories, including two on the LPGA Tour of Japan, including the 2026 Fujifilm Studio Alice Ladies Open.
