The Oklahoma State All-American qualified for her first U.S. Women's Open by earning medalist honors by shooting 8-under-par 136 at Indian Creek Golf Club's Creeks Course. Hinson-Tolchard was coming off a solo fourth-place finish in the NCAA Division I Women's Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Prior to the NCAAs, Hinson-Tolchard won the Big 12 Conference individual title, and posted five other top-10s in her junior season in Stillwater. In 2018, Hinson-Tolchard became one of the youngest champions of the Australian Girls Amateur at age 16 with a three-stroke victory at Royal Perth. Competed in the 2019 U.S. Girls' Junior, finishing second in stroke play before dropping a 19-hole decision in the Round of 64. In 2021, she won the Women's Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship. Last year, she won the NCAA Stillwater (Okla.) Regional and was named the Big 12 Player of the Year.
