The Wayne, N.J., native ended a four-year victory drought on the LPGA Tour when she carded a final-round 66 to claim the 2021 Palos Verdes Championship in Southern California. Her only other win since turning professional in 2012 had been the 2018 Cambia Portland Classic by four strokes over Georgia Hall. This will be her ninth start in the U.S. Women's Open, with a best finish of T-11 in 2017 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. As an amateur, Alex won the 2010 Southeastern Conference title.
