The six-time winner on the LPGA Tour of Japan will make her fifth U.S. Women's Open start thanks to being a late add to the field on May 19 as the first alternate from the Minnesota qualifying site. Following a three-victory season in 2021 on the LPGA Tour of Japan, she registered two more wins in 2022, including the Nipponham Ladies Classic and Nichirei Ladies. Her first title came in the 2020 Mitsubishi Electric/Hisako Higuchi Ladies Golf Tournament. As an amateur, Nishimura was the runner-up in the 2018 Women’s Asia-Pacific Amateur. She was fifth in that same event in 2019. She also represented Japan in the 2018 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship.
