Yan qualified for her sixth U.S. Women's Open by shooting 5-under-par 139 at Bellerive Country Club. Yan represented her country in the International Crown in 2016 and again in 2023. Her best season since joining the LPGA Tour in 2015 was 2019 when she made 18 of 25 cuts and finished 40th on the money list. As an amateur, she captured the 2013 Girls' British Open Amateur and the Ladies British Open Stroke Play at Prestwick in Scotland. She also won silver individually and as a team at the Asian Games. She played for the University of Washington for one season, winning a title in just her second event (Pat Harbottle Invitational).
