Qualifier: Shot 69-74--143 at Springfield (Va.) Country Club on April 30
The Duke University sophomore from Basking Ridge, N.J., qualified for her second consecutive U.S. Women's Open by surviving a 3-for-2 playoff at Springfield (Va.) Country Club after posting 1-over-par 143. She shared medalist honors with Nicha Kanpai and fellow New Jersey resident Angelina Tolentino, with the latter being the odd woman out. Li is no stranger to USGA championships, having advanced to the semifinals of the 2021 U.S. Girls' Junior before losing to eventual champion and world No. 1 amateur Rose Zhang. A year later, she advanced ot the Round of 16 in the U.S. Women's Amateur. In 2023, she qualified for match play in both the U.S. Girls' Junior and U.S. Women's Amateur. In 2021, she represented the U.S. in the Junior Solheim Cup. She is a three-time American Junior Golf Association All-American who won that circuit's Polo Classic in 2023. It is the only match play tournament on the AJGA schedule. In her first year at Duke, she won the Florida State Match Up. Li will join Duke teammate Andie Smith in the field. This past season, Li posted three top-10s, including a share of fourth in the Annika Intercollegiate.
