The South Dakota native (born in Huron and raised in Clark) is headed to a seventh U.S. Women's Open after earning medalist honors in the qualifier held at Pinnacle Peak Country Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Kaufman posted a 36-hole total of 7-under-par 137. Clark made her U.S. Women's Open debut at Lancaster Country Club in 2015, finishing tied for 35th. All three of her professional wins have come on the Epson Tour, including the 2013 Island Resort Championship in her rookie season on the official developmental tour of the LPGA. Before turning pro, Kaufman advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2009 U.S. Girls' Junior. She also competed in three U.S. Women's Amateurs and two U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links. She was a four-time state individual champion at Clark High before attending Texas Tech University. She is married to Swedish-born golfer Johan Wolkesson, who has caddied for her on a number of occasions, including the 2020 U.S. Women's Open.
