Qualifier: Shot 73-69--142 at Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minn., on May 6
Papp Budde will compete in a fourth U.S. Women's Open after surviving a 2-for-1 playoff for the lone spot in a qualifier conducted at Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minn. Papp Budde posted even-par 72 and then outdueled 2023 U.S. Women's Open qualifier Joy Chou for the spot. Papp Budde tied for ninth to earn low-amateur honors in the all-exempt 2020 U.S. Women's Open at Champions Golf Club in Houston. She missed the cut in 2019 as an amateur as well as in her professional debut in the 2021 championship at The Olympic Club. The former University of Texas standout teamed with fellow Texan Hailee Cooper to win the 2016 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball title at Streamsong. As a junior, Papp represented the U.S. in the 2015 and 2017 Junior Solheim Cup and the 2016 Junior Ryder Cup. She also played on three U.S. Palmer Cup Teams (2018, 2019 and 2020), and competed in the Spirit International for the U.S. She was a two-time All-American for the Longhorns, and still holds the program record for career stroke average at 71.91.
