Szokol will make her second U.S. Women's Open start after posting 7-under-par 137 conducted at Sugar Mill Country Club in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Szokol owns two professional wins, including one on the LPGA Tour when she teamed with Cheyenne Knight to claim the 2023 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. She also claimed the 2018 IOA Invitational on the Epson Tour. Szokol gravitated to golf at the age of 14 after suffering her first knee injury playing softball and tennis. She led her high school to a Illinois State title in 2010 and two years later she won the Illinois Women's Amateur. The Winnetka, Ill.m native played two seasons at Northwestern, helping the Wildcats to their first Big 10 team title in program history (2013) before transferring to the University of Virginia, where as a senior she claimed the 2016 NCAA Stanford (Calif.) Regional title. She turned professional in 2017 and immediately posted six top-10s on the Symetra Tour (now Epson Tour). The following year, she finished fourth on the money list to earn her LPGA Tour card for the 2019 season.
