The 30-year-old from Czechia (formerly Czech Republic) will make her second U.S. Women's Open start, and first since missing the cut in 2018 at Shoal Creek, after sharing medalist honors at a qualifier held in Milan, Italy. Davidson Spilkova posted a 36-hole total of 6-under-par 138. Prior to turning pro at age 16 in 2011, she enjoyed a stellar junior/amateur career. She captured the 2009 European Young Masters, and the Czech Women's Amateur and Girls Junior Open in both 2009 and 2010. She also won the 2010 Austrian Amateur. Spilkova was a member of the European Junior Solheim Cup Team in 2009 and Junior Ryder Cup Team in 2010. Spilkova also represented her country in the 2008 and 2010 Women's World Amateur Team Championship. She was seventh in the Ladies European Tour's Rookie of the Year standings in 2011, and six years later, she became the first player from her country to win on the LET (Lalla Meryem Cup). In 2022, she notched win No. 2 at the KPMG Women's Irish Open. She will be joined in the Women's Open field by countrywoman Hana Ryskova, the 2024 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur champion. Spilkova married Italian American Sean Davidson, who played collegiately at Davidson College in North Carolina and is now among the law faculty at Charles University in Prague. He occassionally caddies for his wife, and his brother, Matt, is a former PGA Tour player.
