Lopez-Chacarra will make her U.S. Women's Open debut after earning medalist honors in the Durham, N.C., qualifier with a 36-hole total of 4-under-par 140. The Wake Forest University senior was the Atlantic Coast Conference's Freshman of the Year for the 2021-22 season. This past season, she posted six top-10 finishes, including a victory in the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. She tied for ninth in the ACC Championship. She also owns two other collegiate victories. In 2022, she represented the International Team in the Palmer Cup and was a second-team All-American in both 2022 and 2023. Her older brother, Eugenio, recently left LIV Golf to return to the DP World Tour. He was a standout at Oklahoma State. In 2023, Lopez-Chacarra led Spain to the World University Games team title and was the individual runner-up. That same year, she helped Wake Forest win its first NCAA title, a team that included USA Curtis Cuppers Rachel Kuehn and Emilia Migliacco Doran.
