Qualifier: Shot 67-74--141 at Duke University Golf Club, in Durham, N.C., on April 28

Playing on her home college course, Smith earned a spot in her first U.S. Women's Open by posting 3-under-par 141 in the Durham, N.C., qualifier. The Duke University junior from Bluffton, S.C., posted three top-10s during the 2024-25 season, including a victory in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invite. In 2023 and 2024, Smith posted top-10 finishes in the NCAA regionals, becoming just the sixth Blue Devil to achieve the feat and joining past USGA champions Brittany Lang, Beth Bauer, Amanda Blumenherst and Virada Nirapathpongporn in that club. Smith had a decorated junior career that saw her post six victories on the American Junior Golf Association circuit. She also advanced to the Round of 32 of the 2023 U.S. Women's Amateur. She reached the quarterfinals of the 2024 North & South Women's Amateur at Pinehurst.
