Qualifier: Shot 70-68--138 at Druid Hills Golf Club, in Atlanta, Ga., on April 14

The former Mississippi State standout will play in her second U.S. Women's Open, but first as a professional after advancing from the Druid Hills Golf Club qualifier in Atlanta, Ga. Daniel snagged the third and final spot after posting 6-under 136. Daniel and her mother, Kay, also a past Mississippi State golfer, became the first mother-daughter duo to make match play in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball (2019). Daniel recently collected her first professional victory at the NXXT Women's Pro Tour's stop at the Mission Inn Resort in Miami, Fla. She made an 8-foot putt on the final hole to edge two-time USGA champion Erica Shepherd by a stroke. At Mississippi State, Daniel helped the Bulldogs finish second in the 2021 SEC Championship. The Covington, La., native led MSU in scoring average (74.5) during the 2020-21 season. In high school, while posing for pictures on a platform with her volleyball teammates, Daniel fell 10 feet to the ground and broke her right arm in four places. Doctors feared she never would play sports again. Daniel overcame the setback to win a high school state golf title and state junior championship. Her father, Chuck, played baseball at Mississippi State.
