The 24-year-old Canadian professional will make her U.S. Women's Open debut after sharing medalist honors with amateur Gabriella Kano at the Del Paso Country Club qualifier, in Sacramento, Calif., where she posted 7-under-par 135. Leah joined the Epson Tour in 2024, making 10 cuts in 12 events. John played five seasons (given an extra year due to COVID-19) at the University of Nevada, posting four victories and competing in the NCAA Stanford (Calif.) Regional in 2022. She was a second-team All-Mountain West Conference performer in her "super" senior season of 2023-24. Her cousin, Emily Bydwell, played ice hockey at Brown University, and her aunt, Alison Ray, rowed for Simon Fraser University in British Columbia.
