The 17-year-old will make her U.S. Women's Open debut after surviving a 3-for-1 playoff for the final spot in the Japan qualifier. Nagasawa posted 2-under-par 142 over 36 holes on the East & West courses at Boso Country Club. Earlier this year, she tied for 33rd in the Women's Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. She also represented her country at the 2024 Spirit International in Texas. Nagasawa won the 2024 Japan Junior Championship as well as the 2024 Kanto Women's Amateur title. She finished 16th in the 2024 Australian Women's Amateur.
