Qualifier: Shot 73-65--138 at Elgin (Ill.) Country Club on May 12
The Ohio State graduate and fledgling professional from Diamond Bar, Calif., will make her U.S. Women's Open debut after posting 6-under 138 at Elgin (Ill.) Country Club to garner the second and final spot from the qualifier. Vongsaga spent her freshman season at the University of Arizona before transferring to the Columbus campus, where she was a three-time All-Big Ten Scholar performer (2022-2024). The Women's Golf Coaches Association of America (WGCA) also recognized Vongsaga as an All-American Scholar in 2022 and 2024. She registered two collegiate victories, including the 2024 Dayton Flyer Invitational. She posted a 74.33 scoring average in her final season as a Buckeye. Before enrolling in college, Vongsaga registered a number of victories, including the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior and the American Junior Golf Association Junior at Superstition Mountain in Arizona. She also qualified for a pair of U.S. Women's Amateurs, advancing to match play in 2018 at The Golf Club of Tennessee. As a pro, she has competed on the Annika All-Pro Tour, where she finished second in the 2024 Children's Hospital of Illinois Championship.
