Tan returns to the U.S. Women's Open for a fifth time, but first since 2021 at The Olympic Club, after taking the one available spot in The Vancouver Golf Club qualifier, in Canada. The 31-year-old from Malaysia posted a 2-under total of 142. Tan represented Malaysia in both the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics, the latter of which was postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19. Her lone victory to date came on the Symetra Tour (now Epson Tour) at the 2019 Florida's Natural Charity Classic. She recorded a number of amateur victories, including the 2013 Malaysian Amateur Open before turning professional in 2014. She also represented her country in the 2012 Women's World Amateur Team Championship. Her best finish in a major came in the 2020 KPMG Women's PGA Championship (T-13).
