Katsu earned her fourth consecutive U.S. Women's Open start by being among the top 75 players in the Rolex Rankings as of May 3. She became the youngest champion in LPGA of Japan Tour history when she captured the 2014 KKT Cup Vantelin Ladies Open as a 15-year-old amateur. Before turning professional, she won the 2014 New Zealand Stroke Play Championship, the 2014 Japan Junior Golf Championship and the 2015 Japan Women’s Amateur. Katsu also represented Japan in the 2012 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship. Since turning pro, Katsu has posted seven more victories on the LPGA of Japan Tour. She also captured consecutive Japan Women's Open titles in 2021 and 2022.
