The 20-year-old became the second player from the People's Republic of China to win on the LPGA Tour with her one-stroke victory over Georgia Hall at the DIO Implant LA Open in April. That earned the second-year LPGA Tour player an exemption into the U.S. Women's Open. Previously, Yin had won her first three starts on the China LPGA Tour in 2020, a record for that circuit. Yin earned her LPGA Tour card by tying for third at the Q-Series in the fall of 2021. Her best finish in 2022 on the LPGA Tour was a tie for fourth at the Dana Open.
