Qualifier: Shot 69-69 at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, N.J., on May 15

The rising 20-year-old phenom from Thailand will play in her maiden U.S. Women's Open after posting 4-under 138 at a qualifier at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, N.J. Vongtaveelap nearly won in her LPGA Tour on home soil earlier this year, but was outdueled by Lilia Vu at the Honda LPGA Thailand. She then tied for sixth in her next start at the LOTTE Championship in Hawaii. Before turning pro in November 2022, she twice finished as the runner-up in the Women's Asia-Pacific Amateur (2021 and 2022)., and she captured the Singha Thailand Amateur Open in consecutive years (2021-2022). She earned her LPGA Tour for the 2023 season by advancing through all three stages of Q-School. All five of her professional victories have come on the Thai LPGA Tour.
