Korda, the daughter of 1990 Australian Open singles champion Petr Korda and younger sister of six-time LPGA Tour winner Jessica, registered her third major-championship victory on April 26 when she won the Chevron Championship for a second, this time by five strokes. The win catapulted Korda back to No. 1 in the Rolex Women's Rankings ahead of Jeeno. Thitikul. She previously won this title in 2024 at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas. The 2026 event was held at Memorial Park, in Houston. The 2024 victory was part of a remarkable seven-win campaign that included the season's penultimate event at The Annika Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. That major title gave her five wins in five consecutive starts on the LPGA Tour, joining Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam as the only players to achieve such a feat. With her win at Libery National at the Mizuho Americas Open, she produced six wins in her last seven starts. Her first major title came in the 2021 KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club. Korda, who has won three times in 2026, now owns 18 LPGA Tour wins (22 worldwide). Nelly also won the 2021 Olympic gold medal in the rescheduled Tokyo Summer Games due to COVID-19. Nelly made her first U.S. Women's Open start at age 14 at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., where she tied for 64th. Nelly joined sister Jessica as an Australian Open champion in 2019. She and Jessica are one of three sets of sisters to win on the LPGA Tour, joining Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam, and Ariya and Moriya Jutanugarn. Nelly's younger brother, Sebastian, is a professional tennis player who won the 2018 Australian Open Junior title. He reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 Australian Open.
