S-17: Top 75 points leaders in the Rolex Women's Golf Rankings as of April 3
Ewing (nee McDonald), who is making her ninth U.S. Women's Open start, owns LPGA Tour victories on her wedding anniversary and birthday. She captured the inaugural Bank of Hope Match-Play Presented by Shadow Creek in Las Vegas on May 30, 2021, a year after marrying Mississippi State women's golf coach Charlie Ewing. Ewing defeated reigning British Women's Open champion Sophia Popov, 2 and 1, in the 18-hole championship match. She celebrated her 28th birthday on Oct. 25, 2020, by registering her maiden LPGA Tour victory in the inaugural Drive On Championship, becoming the first Mississippi State alum to win on the circuit. She added a third title at the 2022 Kroger Queen City Championship. Before her inaugural win, Ewing was best known for being a last-minute substitute to the 2019 USA Solheim Cup Team to replace an injured Stacy Lewis. She also represented the U.S. in the 2021 and 2023 competitions. She finished second on the Symetra Tour (now Epson Tour) money list in 2016 to earn her LPGA Tour card for the 2017 season. As an amateur, Ewing advanced to the semifinals of the 2010 U.S. Girls’ Junior and played on the victorious 2014 USA Curtis Cup Team.
