The former Vanderbilt University All-American earned her fifth U.S. Women's Open start by virtue of being among the top 75 point leaders in the Rolex Rankings as of March 23. Since turning professional in 2022, Kim has registered one victory: the 2023 Epson Tour Championship. The St. Augustine, Fla., resident finished third on the money list in that 2023 campaign to graduate to the LPGA Tour. In her first start of the 2024 LPGA Tour season, she tied for sixth in the LPGA Drive On Championship in Florida that included a third-round 64. She also finished third solo third in the LOTTE Championship in Hawaii to help her finish sixth in the Rookie of the Year race and 66th on the money list to keep her card for 2025. In the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, Kim finished tied for second after being involved in the sudden-death playoff. At Vanderbilt, Kim won a pair of tournaments, including the NCAA Auburn (Ala.) Regional in 2019. She qualified for matcch play in the 2019 and 2020 U.S. Women's Amateurs.
