Qualifier: Shot 71-71 at Valencia (Calif.) Country Club on May 22
The left-hander from Spring Valley, Calif., exploded onto the national spotlight in April 2022 when she captured the Augusta National Women's Amateur by one stroke over Lousiana State teammates Latanna Stone and Ingrid Lindblad. That win got Davis into three majors and four additional LPGA Tour events, where she made five cuts. She missed the cut in her first U.S. Women's Open start last year at Pine Needles. Davis qualified for this year's U.S. Women's Open with a 2-under total of 142 at a 36-hole qualifier at Valencia (Calif.) Country Club. Davis, who represented the United States in the 2021 Junior Solheim and Junior Ryder Cups, won the Girls Junior Invitational at Sage Valley earlier this year as well as the Girls Junior Orange Bowl. Announced that she plans to attend Auburn University in the fall of 2024, along with her twin brother, Billy, who also is an accomplished golfer.
