Qualifier: Shot 69-71--140 at Briar Ridge Country Club, in Schererville, Ind., on May 11
The former Purdue All-American will compete in her fifth U.S. Women's Open, thanks to posting 4-under-par 140 at Briar Ridge Country Club, in Schererville, Ind., on May 11. Her 36-hole total was good enough for medalist honors. Reto got her breakthrough LPGA Tour win at the 2022 CP Canadian Women's Open, edging Nelly Korda and Hye-Jin Choi by one stroke. Reto posted a 10-stroke win over Casandra Alexader in the SuperSport Ladies Challenge on the Sunshine Ladies Tour for her first triumph as a professional. Reto enjoyed a stellar amateur career that included consecutive Dixie Amateur titles in 2011 and 2012. She also finished third in the 2013 NCAA Championships. Reto represented South Africa in golf's return to the Olympics in 2016, finishing tied for 16th. COVID-19 forced her out of the delayed 2020 Games in Tokyo that were staged in 2021.
