Qualifier: Shot 68-69--137 at Winchester (Mass.) Country Club on May 1
Li burst onto the national scene in 2014 when, at age 11, she became the youngest qualifier in U.S. Women's Open history. Despite missing the cut (78-78), Li became a media darling, especially during press conference where she enjoyed ice cream bars in between sound bites. This will be her fifth U.S. Women's Open and third since turning professional in 2019. The Northern Californian also became the second-youngest qualifier in U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links history in 2013 at age 10, just behind current U.S. Women's Open champion Allisen Corpuz, and the youngest to ever qualify for match play, surpassing Michelle Wie's mark by 7 days. Li also was the 10-11 Girls' Division champion in the inaugural Drive, Chip & Putt Championship in 2014 at Augusta National Golf Club. In 2013, Li became the youngest qualifier in U.S. Women's Amateur history at 10 years, 10 months and 4 days, surpassing Latanna Stone. Li lost in the quarterfinals of the 2018 U.S. Women's Amateur to eventual winner Kristen Gillman, and fell in the semifinals of the 2018 U.S. Girls' Junior to Alexa Pano. She represented the USA on the victorious 2018 Curtis Cup Team, and played for her country in the 2016 and 2018 Junior Ryder Cup, and 2017 and 2019 Junior Solheim Cup. She and Akshay Bhatia teamed to win a mixed team silver medal in the 2018 Youth Summer Olympic Games. She also won the 2016 Girls Junior PGA Championship as well as two other American Junor Golf Association invitationals in 2017, The Ping Invitational and Rolex Tournament of Champions. Li turned professional in 2019 at the age of 17. Both of her victories as a pro came in 2022 on the Epson Tour.
