Iwai, an LPGA Tour rookie along with her twin sister, Aikie, is making her third start in the U.S. Women's Open, thanks to being among the top 75 points leaders in the Rolex Rankings as of March 24. She also became the third player from Japan to claim a title on the LPGA Tour in 2025 when she claimed the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba on May 25 by six strokes over fellow rookie Jenny Bae. Chisato carded a final-round 66 to join Chevron Championship winner Mao Saigo and Rio Takeda as LPGA Tour winners from Japan in 2025. Chisato also owns eight victories on the LPGA Tour of Japan, three coming in the 2024 campaign.
