Akie Iwai will once again join her twin sister, Chisato, in the field at Erin Hills as both were among the top 30 point leaders in the LPGA Tour's Race to the CME Globe in 2025. Akie also won the 2025 Standard Portland Classic in Oregon for her maiden LPGA Tour title. Earlier in 2025, Akie nearly claimed her first LPGA Tour title at the Honda LPGA Thailand, posting a 61 in the final round to finish one stroke back of winner Angel Yin. Akie posted three wins and two seconds during the 2023 season on the Japan LPGA, and added three more victories in 2024.
