Qualifier: Shot 68-67--135 at Rockwall (Texas) Golf & Tennis Club on April 29
Donegan became an overnight fan favorite in 2023 at Pebble Beach with her opening-round 69 that had the Republic of Ireland native among the leaders. Her gregarious nature and interaction with fans garnered attention from the media. The Louisiana State University junior made the cut in her U.S. Women's Open debut and finished tied for 45th, just missing out on low-amateur honors. Later in the summer, she competed in the U.S. Women's Amateur and was a sponsor's invite to a Ladies European Tour event in Ireland. Donegan earned her place in this year's field by earning medalist honors at Rockwall (Texas) Golf & Tennis Club with a 36-hole total of 9-under-par 135. She is the third current LSU player in the field, joining 2023 U.S. Women's Amateur runner-up Latanna Stone and world No. 1 amateur Ingrid Lindblad, the recipient of the 2023 McCormack Medal. Donegan transferred to LSU after one All-Big 10 season at Indiana University. Before college, she advanced to match play in the British Girls Championship conducted by The R&A in 2018 and 2019. She represented Ireland in the 2019 World Girls Junior Championship and Spirit International.
