S-5: Winner of 2022 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship

Carman earned her first U.S. Women's Open start by virtue of claiming the 2022 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. The Oregon native defeated Aliea Clark, 2 and 1, in the 18-hole final at Fiddlesticks Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla. It was Carman's second ever start in a USGA championship, and she was the first mom to win the Women's Mid-Am since Ellen Port in 2011. Carman enjoyed a strong 2022 competitive season, winning the Oregon Stroke Play Championship, was the medalist in the Oregon Women's Amateur and the runner-up in the Oregon Women's Mid-Amateur. Carman played two seasons at Oregon State University before transferring to Portland State, where she was a first-team All-Big Sky performer in 2016. Carman's mother, Suzanne, played at Oregon State, and she met her husband, Mitchell, at the Rose City Golf Course in Portland. The couple has a young son, Conrad.
