Bio

Kawamoto will make her second U.S. Women's Open start after posting 9-under-par 135 in a qualifier held at Boso Country Club in Japan. She finished 60th in the all-exempt U.S. Women's Open in 2020 at Champions Golf Club in Houston. In the fall of 2019, she finished tied for ninth in the LPGA Tour's Q-Series to earn playing privileges for the 2020 season. She made 7 of 13 cuts during the COVID-shortened season to place 73rd on the money list. She played in only four LPGA Tour events the following season and now competes primarily on the LPGA Tour of Japan, where she owns one career win, the 2019 AXA Ladies Golf Tournament in Miyazaki. Her brother, Riki, has qualified for the upcoming U.S. Open at Pinehurst.
